Key Information & FAQs

What began just three years ago as a 21st birthday party for 300 friends has grown into a full-scale, 5,000-capacity festival - still built and run by the same group of friends who care deeply about music, connection and community.
GemFest is an independent grassroots music festival, created by PullUp Recordings - Wales’ largest dance music label - and celebrates the full spectrum of underground music: house, UKG, jungle, drum & bass, techno and beyond. Every detail is crafted by a small, passionate team who truly live and breathe the festival.

Info
-
Parking is available in the festival car park with a valid pre-purchased Parking Pass which is available to purchase via the Add-Ons of our tickets page.
Arriving without a pre-purchased parking ticket may delay your entry as you will be directed to purchase one on arrival.
All vehicles (excluding drop-off) must be parked in the designated long-stay car park.
-
Direct trains run from London Paddington and Bristol to Chippenham Station. From there, we run a Shuttle Bus service that will operate to and from the festival site.
Shuttle Bus tickets should be pre-purchased (available in Add-Ons) to guarantee your spot. Scheduled departure times can be found on the ticket listings page - please ensure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time stated on your ticket.
Tickets may be available to buy at the shuttle bus pick-up point, but this is subject to availability and bus capacity. You should not rely on buying a ticket at the pick-up point - if the bus is full, you will need to wait for the next service.
-
All pick-ups and drop-offs must take place in the designated Pick-Up & Drop-Off Zone located near the festival car park.
Pre-arranging your transport is strongly advised to ensure a smooth arrival and departure.
Important:
Pick-ups or drop-offs on the outer public roads surrounding Charlton Park Estate are strictly prohibited.
Walking into or out of the site on foot is not permitted due to fast-moving 60mph roads and safety risks.
Anyone collecting or dropping off must use the official Pick-Up & Drop-Off Zone only.
Unlicensed Taxis
Never use unlicensed taxis.
For your safety, always ensure the vehicle and driver are properly licensed.
Here’s what to look for:
How to identify a licensed taxi:
The vehicle will display an official local authority licence plate on the rear.
The driver will have a clearly visible ID badge issued by the council.
The vehicle should have company branding, a meter and/or a registered booking system.
Licensed taxis will never refuse to show identification on request.
Avoid any vehicle that:
Approaches you offering a ride without being booked
Has no licence plate on the rear
Has no driver ID visible
Appears unmarked or unofficial
Asks for cash only or offers unusually cheap prices
Pressures you to get in
For your safety do not get into any vehicle you are unsure about.
If in doubt, return to the Pick-Up & Drop-Off Zone where staff can assist you.
-
Entry and departure MUST NOT be on foot. It is strictly prohibited due to the 60mph roads surrounding Charlton Park Estate. Please arrange vehicle pick-up and drop-off at the Pick-Up & Drop-Off Zone or utilise our Shuttle Bus Service.

Being prepared for changing weather conditions will help ensure you have a safe and enjoyable festival experience.
Security and Welfare
-
We take a number of steps to reduce our environmental footprint and keep the land healthy for future years:
Reducing Carbon Emissions
We use hybrid machinery and HVO-fuel generators where possible to significantly reduce carbon emissions across site operations.
We work closely with suppliers to consolidate deliveries, reducing the number of vehicles and miles travelled.
Our transport and logistics plan aims to keep unnecessary trucks off the road and avoid wasteful movements.
Cutting Single-Use Plastics
We are working towards a single-use-plastic-free site, including all crew, artists, suppliers and traders.
Bars will operate a reusable cup scheme.
Traders will be required to use biodegradable or recyclable packaging.
Supporting Sustainable Trading
Food traders are encouraged to use organic, local and seasonal produce where possible.
We prioritise traders who meet strong environmental criteria.
Protecting the Estate
Dedicated teams monitor the site throughout the weekend to prevent damage to the land and wildlife.
Clear waste stations, recycling points and water refill points are available across the arena and campsites.
-
We all have a role to play in keeping GemFest clean, safe and sustainable. Here’s how you can help:
Respect the Land
Do not urinate on the ground - use the toilets provided at all times.
Stick to marked paths and camping areas to avoid damaging plants and wildlife.
Keep Your Campsite Clean
Bring reusable items where possible (cups, cutlery, bottles).
Use the bins and recycling points provided - sort your waste correctly.
Leave your pitch exactly as you found it. Take ALL tents, chairs and belongings home.
Reduce Plastic
Bring a reusable water bottle - refill it at free water points across the site.
Avoid single-use plastics and opt for biodegradable products where possible.
Travel Responsibly
Use trains, shuttle buses or car share where possible.
Avoid unnecessary trips in and out of the festival once on site.
Think Before You Bring
Only bring what you genuinely need for the weekend.
Avoid items that are disposable or cheap and likely to be abandoned.
